Each woman will decorate her baskets according to her own taste and tradition.  It takes several weeks to make each of these very unique baskets.  Sometimes they re-use plastic strips to create the colour patterns you see and is commonly used as a way to repair old baskets too. A great way to help Mother Earth recycling plastics too... 

Old damaged baskets clearly shows years of service and has been repaired by reinforcing the sides with cloth strips.
