Senufo bed

The Senufo are a tribe who live in Western Africa (Ivory Coast, South Mali and East Burkina Faso) and are known for their excellent carvings. This bed is an example of this. In Africa, beds are usually meant to rest during the day. In most places they are carved from 1 piece of wood. The design varies from country to country, so the beds of the Bamileke in Cameroon are very complicated in design. The Senufo beds, on the other hand, are very simple: they consist of a large flat surface with a slope at the end as a headrest.
