Wooden trilla #2 - Spain

Threshing is the process of removing the grain from the ripe ear (separating the wheat from the chaff). Every culture has its own traditions for threshing. In Spain, a wooden board with stones was tied behind oxen or donkeys. The animals circled around a mountain of grain. 

This tradition is a thing of the past but this wooden board gets a second life as a beautiful interior object.
